Five Books referred to as The Law

There is such a great HOPE covered throughout the Old Testament and applies to us today. 

    Genesis through Deuteronomy 

     In the very first book we read of Gods Ultimate Love in creation. Creating mankind (male and female) in God’s image with every stage of creation with us in mind. Knowing of this great Love, we can stand in such a Blessed Hope. 

     Mankind has a history of rebellion and sin that has separated us from him. But even from the beginning God’s heart of Love has made a prevision to reclaim a relationship with our creator. God choose to pursue us through a promise, a covenant made with a man name Abraham. The covenant was to bless all nations and all people. Faith was and is the key to unlocking such a Great Hope.

     The call for us is to believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who is the author and finisher of our faith. He has called us to be Holy just as Israel was when God saved them from the bandage of Egyptian slavery. This is a high calling but can only come about through a changed, transformed, and contrite heart. That was the expectation for the nation of Israel and is for us today. We must place all trust in our Lord and Savior no matter what circumstances come our way.     

     We read of a rebellious generation, the Nation of Israel that wasn’t allowed to enter the Promised Land. Even though they experienced Gods awesome power of deliverance they choose to look back and not forward. They looked at their circumstance with distain instead of holding onto Gods promises. Gods will and purposes will always prevail, and we can take part with such a mystery of God working in us and through us, accomplishing his purposes or we can choose to turn away from him.  

     The People of Israel were called to keep the word of the Covenant in their hearts and actions. And if they do, they will be successful and all that they do. This is a great model for us to follow as we search through Scripture as the moral compass, for his will can come in understanding the Heart of God as it has been revealed to us.
